Nothing is “normal” and we are all missing taking part in all of our favorite activities “normally”. Of those activities that I know I am missing most are concerts and Preds games. Sure, we all we want to be at Bridgestone arena yelling how much a certain goalie sucks, singing a long with Tim McGraw as we score a goal because we like it, we love it and always want some more of it. We miss giving Gnash a high-five and grabbing our favorite concession snacks. Above all we love when our hands go up, and they stay there.
Since we can’t be there in-person, at least right now, it does not mean we can’t still enjoy a Preds game day experience at home. Here are just a few ways you can heighten your game day experience from the comfort of your own living room! We’ll call this homegaiting (Thank you, Anna for that term!).
Gold on the Ceiling
The first task is an easy one. Start with your game day gold. Whether that be your favorite jersey, shirsey, sweatshirt, tshirt, whatever – put on that game day gold and wear it loud and proud for the boys. In need some of some new Preds threads? Stop by the team store at Bridgestone Arena, or order online and have it delivered directly to your door. I definitely have my eye on one of the new retro jerseys – but to personalize or not to personalize is the question.
If you aren’t sure what Preds merch to pick up next – or just want to add some extra flair to your game day swag collection the Preds are doing a subscription box sending you EXCLUSIVE items to your door, like preds beanies and mugs. You can sign up for the Smashville at Home surprise sub box here.
Focused and Dialed In
Tune in to the Preds broadcast through your local cable provider. I currently have AT&T U-verse and am able to watch the games on channel 1725 (Fox Sports South). If you don’t have AT&T U-Verse or cable in general you can check out a few streaming options here. Still unable to stream? Don’t forget to check out the game on the radio on 102.5 The Game.
Snacks on Deck
Snacks are one of the most important parts of any event. Pop some of your favorite popcorn, grab some Dr Pepper (Be sure to pick up a BruMate to keep your drinks cold and your hands warm! Take 15% off your first order) and of course some Hunt Brothers Pizza. Don’t forget the Christie Cookies for dessert! Rumor has it they can deliver through Postmates.
Not sure where to pick up some HB Pizza? Here are a few locations to stop by:
- Crossings Blvd, Antioch, TN 37013
- 3251 S Mt Juliet Rd, Hermitage, TN 37076
- 7812 TN-109, Lebanon, TN 37087
- 1137 N Castle Heights Ave, Lebanon, TN 37087
- 6249 Robertson Ave, Nashville, TN 37209
- Reed Ave, Fort Campbell, KY 42223
Come out of the Penalty Box
Tired of being stuck at home and just want to go somewhere other than home for the game? Then don’t forget to check out Double Dogs, which is my favorite place to watch a game other than Bridgestone Arena. Be sure to order the spicy cheese toast. You can thank me later.
And of course, don’t forget your Preds mask if you go out!
Take it up a notch
- Light the lamp when the preds score a goal with a hockey goal light for your living room
- Listen to the Preds Playlist here.
- Take part in the first goal of the game contest.
- Pick up some Preds gear for your pup!
Game Over – Hands Are Up
Now that you have your snacks, the game is tuned in on your tv, tablet or radio, you’ve got your comfy spot picked out on the couch (Hunt Brothers pizza in hand of course) and your game day gold on, it’s time to enjoy! Although, these suggestions do not replace Bridgestone Arena and these circumstances are less than ideal, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the most of this season until we can all be together again! Don’t forget to connect with me on Instagram and share how you are enjoying the game.
Here’s to a great season and lets make some noise for the boys! LET’S GO PREDS!!!
