Losing weight has always been kind of a long road for me. I have tried working out, tried changing eating habits, diet pills, you name it. I feel like I have tried everything and unfortunately, lost motivation rather quickly from not seeing results as soon as I hoped. Patience has never a strong suit of mine.
I’ve always had it in the back of my mind that there would be something that would work or that I could explore another new option that I hadn’t tried but wasn’t ever really motivated to do it. Until, June 2018.
Every June I attend the CMA Music Festival here in Nashville. The weather is typically very hot and most of the shorts I had were fitting snugger than the year before. So I went shopping and found some great clothing options that would be perfect for that week as well as the rest of the summer. However, I had to go up a size – which was hard to take in but hadn’t really set in on how much of a problem I had. Although, I felt comfortable in my new clothes I didn’t exactly feel confident. I was hating how I looked in every photo and beating myself up over it. I was cropping every photo that I took and knew at that point I really needed to do something – what that was? I didn’t know.
This is when I decided to check out Profile by Sanford. A program designed by doctors in Sioux Falls, SD. I discovered Profile after seeing Chelsea Houska (DeBoer), a cast member from the MTV show Teen Mom 2, post about her journey with them on her Instagram with a promo code and she had talked about how it had worked for her, as well as her father Randy Houska. Randy is doing really well on the program and has even started vlogging his journey on his YouTube channel, Losing Randy. If it worked for them, why couldn’t it work for me? So I started researching the website to see what it was about. It seemed simple enough and there wasn’t anything that stuck out to me that I couldn’t make it work so I figured what do I have to lose? Except all the unnecessary weight.
I set up my free appointment with a coach just to check it out, to learn more than what I was seeing online and if it would be a good fit for me. After meeting with a coach, I signed up and decided to give it a shot. Being a picky eater I was a little worried that it may not be the best thing for me but I wouldn’t know unless I tried. I was worried that I wouldn’t like the shakes or bars – which, if I didn’t like the taste then it would be harder to stay on track because I would be dreading my next meal/shake. Luckily, I was able to find foods and ways to make things work without getting off plan and easier on myself. Oh, and about the taste of those shakes and the bars? They truly are DELICIOUS!
It has been almost 2 months now that I have been on the plan and have lost 18lbs! It is so rewarding seeing the work pay off and having the number on the scale change on an almost consistent basis. Is it easy? No. I am not going to lie. Have I slipped up? Yes, once…maybe a couple times but I’m human and it happens. The key is just jumping back on track without turning a cheat meal into a cheat day/week.
If you are anything like me and you have put in the hard work of exercising or trying every diet pill on this planet but still aren’t receiving results…then check out Profile. You can meet with a coach for free during your first visit. You will sit down with a coach for an hour (or less) to ask any questions you may have to see if it will work for you – What do YOU have to lose?
