I have been wanting to try Caviar and Banana’s for a long time. I had seen so many people post about it and had to add it to my list of things to experience in Nashville. Yes, I live here and I am always adding new things to my list. One of the many reasons to love Nashville. Anyway, so back to C&B…You can find this gem in the midtown area of Nashville, it is a part of the Aertson Midtown Hotel.
One of my favorite things was the vibe. It was upscale but not to the point where I didn’t feel like I didn’t belong being there with my leggings and sweatshirt. It was very clean and the black, gold and white color scheme was an absolute dream. Another plus about the design, is that it is an Instagramer’s dream! There are a lot of great spots throughout the restaurant that will make your Instagram-loving heart very happy.
When it comes to food – there are a lot of options! You can choose anything from sandwiches, soup and salads to smoked salmon and grilled chicken! There are also numerous choices for drinks as well. Wine, tea, coffee, sodas, lemonade, there’s something for everyone to choose from. There are also a lot of market style areas where you can pick up items to purchase to bring home with you like chips, rice, crackers and other snacks.
OH!….and don’t forget the wine. There is a super-cute wine section.
I ordered a Design Your Own Sandwich and grabbed a bag of kettle chips to pair with it. In addition to my meal I ordered a black tea with lemon and finished off my experience with the birthday cake cheesecake. The sandwich was my favorite item I ordered. Although, my food tasted great – minus the cheesecake, which was a little crumbly and dry – it was rather expensive for the items I purchased. It was almost $25 for all of that not including a tip. For me, unfortunately, this was a major downfall of my experience.
But this won’t stop me from going back. I just won’t make it a point to have it be one of my usual places that I frequent.
Another downfall was how confusing it was on where and how to order. I eventually figured it out on my own. So if you have not yet visited C&B, you will visit the hot foods or salad section of the restaurant and order your food. They will give you a ticket that you will take to the drink bar or cashier to pay for your order and you can then add on a drink or dessert.
Pro’s
- Variety of choices
- Beautiful decor
- Free WiFi
Con’s
- Expensive
- Confusing (Order System)
- No Free Parking
Overall, yes, I would recommend Caviar and Banana’s but just be prepared to pay a bit for your experience from parking to your meal. It’s not going to be a quick and cheap option if that is what you are looking for.
